Itinerant Support Teacher (Behaviour) for the Bankstown District Office
is Rene Demos. Rene is
responsibe for: |

|
|
|
- Supports the district in the planning and implementation
of appropriate educational and behaviour management programs,
which cater for students who are referred for support due to behaviour
difficulties.
- Supports the school to clarify the problem by providing a
functional assessment of specific behaviour and educational difficulties.
- Supports the teacher and school to develop and implement
academic management programs, behaviour management programs, and
playground behaviour programs. individual and group social skills
programs and communication/language skills program.
- Works in a case management model on individualised and group
behaviour programs.
- Assists students to develop skills in managing their own
behaviour.
- Reviews and evaluates the services and strategies provided.
- Provides consultancy support and/or training and development
initiatives in schools or across a number of schools in the district.
- Supports early intervention and transition initiatives for
students displaying behaviour difficulties.
- Provides copies of relevant documentation e.g. the planned
intervention, to the principal, to the assistant principal - itinerant
support teacher (behaviour) and to the school counsellor.
- Consult and collaborate with district personnel as part of
the district behaviour team.
