Development |
The district supports the professional development
of vocational trained teachers.
This occurs through a variety of activities:
- QTP Program
Enables teachers to strengthen their knowledge, skills and
understanding as a VET teacher and to assist in maintaining
their industry currency and improve their delivery of industry
curriculum framework.
- Teacher Training Programs
Have been developed for vocational HSC courses
in each industry curriculum framework and for content –
endorsed vocational courses.
- Teachers in Business
Enables teachers to return to industry to further develop
their skills and knowledge. This program develops and enhances
cross-sector partnerships by providing teachers with first
hand experience in industry/enterprise.
- Industry Specific Workshops
Are provided in consultation with teachers to update skills
necessary for teaching industry curriculum frameworks.
- Network Meetings
Conducted across districts provide support to teachers within
given frameworks. These meetings provide a vehicle for assessment
validation and support RTO compliance.
- VET Coordinators Meetings
Provide ongoing support and information to coordinators
in their role of promoting and supporting vocational education
within Bankstown schools.
